CENTER, TX (KTRE) -

Investigators with the Center Police Department are seeking the public's helping in locating two fugitive suspects in a theft of a generator and assorted tools that occurred at the Energy Lodge early Wednesday morning.

According to a press release, a green Chevy Suburban pulled into the parking lot at the Energy Lodge in Center at approximately 12:20 a.m. Wednesday. There, the suspects allegedly took a Honda generator and assorted tools with an estimated total value of $3,500.

Detectives with the Center Police Department were quickly able to locate four suspects in the theft and recover the stolen items. The suspects were identified as Shelby Whittington, 22, Jerry Akins, 26, Joey Garner, 31, and Jose Palacios, 44.

Later Wednesday, a Shelby County judge issued felony theft and engaging in organized criminal activity warrants. Whittington and Palacios have already been arrested and taken into custody. However, Akins and Garner are still on the run.

"They are desperate and would do anything to avoid capture," the press release stated.

If you has any information on where Akins and Garner are located, call Center Crime Stoppers at (936) 598-SAFE or send a tip online at the Center Crime Stoppers Website.
