Two East Texas restaurants found to have serious violations

(KLTV) - Two East Texas restaurants were found to have serious violations during the latest health department inspection period.

Mr. Chow, located at 3012 W. Marshall Avenue in Longview, had a total of 21 demerits stemming from these violations:

  • Stored cream cheese and crab mix were out of date
  • Dented cans of soy sauce were found
  • A prep sink had dried food residue on it
  • Employees had open beverages throughout the kitchen  

Papa Johns #1227, located at 631 S. Beckham Avenue, received 19 demerits for the following violations:

  • Employees seen handling foods with bare hands
  • Pepperoni, sausage, chicken and beef were all held too warm
  • Stored out of date foods were found
  • A food cooler holding meats were out of temperature
