TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The adult female from Saturday night's stabbing incident succumbed to her injuries while at the hospital, according to Tucson Police.

She has been identified as 35-year old Marcela Julie Ann Slatin.

Her husband, Art Slatin, was arrested for second degree murder, a felony offense.

Detectives determined that Mr. and Mrs. Slatin engaged in a physical altercation inside the residence, which resulted in Mr. Slatin stabbing Mrs. Slatin multiple times.

Tucson police officers responded to a reported stabbing incident yesterday evening at the 500 block of North Evelyn Avenue.

According to Sgt. Maria Hawke, the officers located a 35-year-old woman inside the residence. She was suffering from apparent stab wounds.

Her husband was also inside the residence, and three of their children were outside of the house in a family vehicle.

Officers rendered first aid to the female, while requesting that emergency medical personnel from the Tucson Fire Department respond as well.

When TFD arrived at the residence, they determined that the female had life threatening injuries and transported her to a local trauma center. The woman's husband and children did not have injuries.

Detectives from the Domestic Violence Unit and the Homicide Unit also responded to the residence in order to further the investigation. They indicated that a confrontation occurred inside the residence. During the course of the altercation, the female was stabbed.
