Stephen f. Austin head football coach Clint Conque paid a visit to the Rose City this afternoon. It's perfect timing to pump up the program, considering the Jacks are coming off a dramatic last second win over Incarnate Word. Put on by the alumni association, Conque was the featured speaker at a Lumberjack networking event. Coach Conque got to brag a little about SFA's first victory of the year. Not to mention that despite a rough non-conference, the Jacks are 1-0 in South...More >>

MESA, AZ (CBS5) -

An Arizona man who his co-workers say goes the extra mile even while dealing with his own personal issues is getting a reward.

Quinn McMullen doesn't like to bring much attention to himself.

"He's just a really nice guy that is always there, always dependable," his co-worker, Bonnie Krentler, said.

As a co-worker at a Mesa Home Depot, Krentler has been learning on McMullen's knowledge for years, and with what he's gone through recently, she thought it was time he deserved some support of his own.

A few months ago, McMullen's brother, his roommate and his only living relative passed away from cancer.

Shortly before his brother's death, McMullen suffered a heart attack, but through all of his difficulties, Krentler said he remains a pillar of strength at work.

"He just works so hard. I don't know, I'm just kind of an emotional person, but he works so hard and he looks out for everybody else," Krentler said.

Krentler, with CBS 5 News' Pay It Forward, presented McMullen with $500.

"I hope he sees that people do care about him. I don't know how he feels right now but this is a way we can show him for sure that we are family. We're his family now," Krentler said.

"It's unthinkable, it's unimaginable, I didn't think anybody would do that for me," McMullen said.

In times like these, employees at Home Depot benefit from what they call the "Homer" program, a fund to which the staff voluntarily donates to help co-workers when they need a little financial assistance.
