TYLER, TX (KLTV) - According to an alert issued to students at The University of Texas at Tyler, the institution received phone calls Thursday suggesting a possible threat to the campus.

The calls suggest a possible threat involving a narrow time frame that appears to end this weekend.

UT Tyler officials are asking students and staff on campus to be aware of their surroundings at all times. Police are increasing security at all campus events.

Anyone who received suspicious phone calls regarding the university, noticed any suspicious activity on campus, or has information regarding suspicious activity is asked to notify university police immediately by calling 911 or 903-566-7300.
