Slushie machine stolen during robbery

Posted: Updated:
BRIDGEPORT, CT (WFSB) -

Bridgeport police are investigating a commercial robbery after a slushie machine was stolen.

Police said they were called to the Smokers Spot on Park Avenue Monday evening after getting word of the robbery.

The victim said several men entered the store looking for the store owner. He said the men requested $2,700, but said he didn't have access to that amount of money.

The men remained in the store for more than an hour waiting for the owner. At that point, police said, the men led the victim to believe they had weapons and said they would take the frozen drink machine.

The victim told police the men told them he would be turned into "Swiss cheese" if he didn't assist.

He said he helped the men unplug the machine and it was loaded into a Honda Odyssey.

The store owner arrived later and told police he borrowed money from one of the suspects, who he believed lived in the Bronx.

No arrests have been made, but the incident remains under investigation.
