Angelina Co. Voting Official reminding voters of new I. D. law

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Angelina County Election administrator Midget Sherman said that the turnoutin this year's early voting season has been very low.

"It has been extremely slow," Sherman said. "With mail, wedid 51."

Sherman said that the main issue this year has been the new voter I. D. law thatrequires all voters to have a form of voter identification.

In previous elections, there have been multiple locations in the county.

"It is [the only place], because I expected such a low turnout."Sherman said. "Trying to be cost effective, I just have this location fortwo weeks."

Another location change is the amount of places opened on election day.

The locations will be:

Hudson Fire Station
