Diboll Students needing donated cowboy boots for project

DIBOLL, TX (KTRE) - Students involved with the Future Farmers of America and the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America classes are in need of used cowboy boots for their upcoming Christmas float.

The students in the two classes plan on decorating the float in a cowboy theme.

They want to build a Christmas tree out of the used cowboys boots. After the annual Lufkin Christmas Parade, the students will be donating the boots to charities in Angelina County.

"I think it is just showing us going out and helping in our community, being a positive influence on others and getting them to help other people," student Sarah Smith said.

"It's a good idea because people don't really notice us and it will get people to notice FFA and FCCLA," student Anaha Blee said.

The school will be accepting donations through Dec.2. Students hope that all the boots can be given away but will also accept loaner boots and promise to get them back to the owners.

For more information on how to donate you can call Diboll High School at (936) 829-5626.
