The first annual 'chunk-a-palooza', pumpkin chunking contest was held Saturday in Overton.
The chunking contest was hosted by the Kilgore college agriculture program. Four teams used trebuchet's and catapults to launch the pumpkins for height and distance. Five pumpkins of varying weight were used.
Students from Kilgore college and East Texas high schools participated in the event, which organizers hope to make a fall tradition.
