7 from 7: Stories for your Tuesday

Good afternoon, everyone! Can you believe this is the last Tuesday in October 2013? The year is speeding by.

Here are some stories we think you'll want to check out this afternoon:

1. I know many of you Trick-Or-Treaters out there are worried about the forecast for Halloween (Thursday) night here in East Texas. Our friend Chief Meteorologist Mark Scirto has given us a preview of what we might expect. See that here, and join Mark this afternoon at 4, 5 and 6 for your full forecast on KLTV and KLTV.com.

2. Longview Police now have a description of a vehicle that may have been used in an October 14 homicide. Police are asking anyone who may have seen an early 2000's model Chevrolet Suburban or similar SUV parked near the 1000 block of Sabine Street on October 13 to contact them. The SUV may be burgundy with double rear doors. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Gregg County Crimestoppers at 903-236-7867. See the details we know about the murder here.

3. Around 500 people attended the 6th annual Hispanic Business Achievers Awards luncheon in Tyler today. The event was held at Harvey Hall and featured guest speaker George P. Bush. Find out who won awards here.

4. Emergency crews are on the scene of an accident on Highway 110 between Whitehouse and Troup. Witnesses say the two vehicle accident, a head-on collision, occurred about three miles north of Troup and debris is littering the scene.

5. We know how important your furry family members are, so we want to provide a resource for you to help you find your lost pets or to help others find theirs.

7. Attention all veterans and job seekers: join the Texas Workforce Commission, Workforce Solutions East Texas, and their partners for the statewide Hiring Red, White & You job fair, designed to connect you with area employers looking for qualified candidates for a variety of positions. It will take place on Nov. 14 at Harvey Hall in Tyler.

We hope you'll join us on KLTV.com where we live stream the news for you at 4, 5 and 6, just in case you're not near a tv.

We'll see you soon!

More than a few tar-covered tires are hanging on to the parking lot of a Lufkin tire shop.  On August 31, newly laid asphalt on Loop 287 started sticking to tires of those driving, leaving many of the cars un-driveable. As of Friday, the Texas Department of Transportation hadn't come out with an official cause for the incident, but that hasn't stopped over 600 people from filing claims with them.
