Police arrest suspect in Tobacco Express robbery, sexual assault

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the armed robbery and sexual assault that took place at the Tobacco Express at 3816 34th Street around 1:15 p.m. Saturday.

Police announced the arrest of Zavier Antoine Allen, 23, on Monday evening.

Police say the suspect entered the Tobacco Express store and displayed a handgun. He forced the clerk to open the register, then took her to the rear of the store where he sexually assaulted her. She was later transported to the hospital.

Back in 2010, Allen was charged with assaulting an LISD bus driver. He pled guilty and was sentenced to three years for the crime.
