Stephen f. Austin head football coach Clint Conque paid a visit to the Rose City this afternoon. It's perfect timing to pump up the program, considering the Jacks are coming off a dramatic last second win over Incarnate Word. Put on by the alumni association, Conque was the featured speaker at a Lumberjack networking event. Coach Conque got to brag a little about SFA's first victory of the year. Not to mention that despite a rough non-conference, the Jacks are 1-0 in South...More >>

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A 79-year-old Arizona woman got in a serious car crash and her car was damaged but that didn't stop her driving neighborhood kids who need a ride.

"She's always got a cheerful attitude and if you are feeling down, call Myrlene and she'll cheer you right up," Linda Cogswell said.

Myrlene Johnston isn't just being honored for her infectious personality, she's also a tireless worker, volunteering everyday: weeding and helping landscape her neighbors' yards, chauffeuring neighborhood children to and from school, babysitting, birthday parties, and the list goes on.

"I'm a workaholic, and I love work, I love service, I love people and I'm loving this," Johnston said.

Even when she was in a car crash at a nearby construction site and her driver's side door would no longer open, she just crawls over the seat everyday and keeps on going. She's been doing it for a year because the kids on the street depend on her.

This week, her friends awarded her with $500. Johnston was thrilled with the money, floored by the impromptu family reunion and she had no idea the best was yet to come.

VIP Auto Sales heard about Johnston's story and donated a minivan with a working driver's side door.

"I can't believe this, this doesn't happen even in your dreams," Johnston said.

"That's why I do it, because of the happiness. I'm a very rich woman," Johnston said.
