LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Following a domestic disturbance last month, the Polk County Adult Probation Office has filed a motion to revoke probation for the owner of Yates Media.
The probationer of Stephen Walter Yates Jr., 55, may have even more evidence to put him in prison after he was arrested during a traffic stop on a vehicle he was driving, something he is not allowed to do until 2017.
Yates' troubled past with the law dates back to 1979. He is currently on a 10-year probation sentence which began in 2007 following his fourth DWI conviction out of Polk County.
Yates was arrested for violating his probation in April 2011, after he was caught driving a vehicle which id not have a breathalyzer in it. In May 2011, he was released on stricter conditions to his probation, which included surrendering his driver's licence until his probation was over.
On Oct. 30, Yates was arrested after Lufkin police said he threw his girlfriend, Savanna Marberry, to the ground and pushed her and grabbed her throat. He was released later that day after posting a $1,500 bail.
According to the Lufkin police report, an officer saw a BMW M6 traveling southbound on South Timberland Drive at the intersection of Chestnut Street at 7:32 p.m. Monday. the officer stopped him and said Yates was driving the vehicle and learned he had a warrant out of Polk County for his arrest.
