Nacogdoches PD arrests 4 in connection to T-Rex Outdoors ATV thefts

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Nacogdoches Police officers arrested four suspects in the theft of four side-by-side All Terrain vehicles from T-Rex Outdoors Thursday afternoon.

The suspects include Antonio Luis Gallegos, 27, Michael Gray Heflin, 20, Melissa Gallegos, 24, and Euardp Mejorado, 31. All four of them were charged with felony engaging in organized criminal activity charges, according to a press release.

They are currently being held in the Nacogdoches Jail, and their arraignments are pending.

According to a press release from the Nacogdoches Police Department, NPD officers were dispatched to the business shortly before 9 a.m. Wednesday. The officers learned that sometime during the overnight hours, the suspects forced open a fenced area and drove the vehicles away.

"Officer were able to track the vehicles through an area behind the store and along the Union Pacific railroad tracks to a location near Old Tyler Road, where the vehicles were apparently loaded onto a vehicle," the press release stated.

NPD detectives tracked down leads all day Wednesday and worked into the night, the press release stated. They identified several suspects in the case. Arrest warrants were obtained, and the four suspects were arrested Thursday afternoon.

In an effort to locate the stolen ATVs and possibly identify more suspects, NPD detectives are still investigating the theft incident.
