NASHVILLE, TN (RNN) – The Commodores remain undefeated in 2013 with an 80-69 victory over the Lipscomb Bisons Friday night.

Vanderbilt (2-0) was led by forward James Siakam. The 6'7" junior from Douala, Cameroon scored 18 points with 13 rebounds and a .778 field goal percentage.

Lipscomb (1-2), also in Nashville, led Vandy 48-46 early in the second half before the Commodores pulled away, scoring 20 of the final 32 points in regulation. Vanderbilt shot 22-for-37 from the free throw line and 25-for-47 from field goal range.

Guard J.C. Hampton led Lipscomb with 21 points, five rebounds and five assists.

The victory also gave Vanderbilt coach Kevin Stallings his 297th win, making him the wins leader in Vanderbilt men's basketball history. He moved ahead of Roy Skinner, Vanderbilt's coach from 1958-76.

Vanderbilt's next game will be on the road against the Butler Bulldogs on Tuesday.
