Sheriff's department identifies victim of fatal hit-and-run

SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

The Smith County Sheriff's Office is investigating a hit-and-run that left a man dead on Sunday night.

The collision happened around 9:15 p.m. on Sunday in the 1100 block of County Road 1125, south of Highway 64 in Smith County. The victim was identified as 43-year-old Jack Thomas Arnold, Jr of Tyler.

At this time, authorities have no leads on the identity of the driver of the car nor the type of vehicle involved in the accident.
