SMYRNA, TN (WSMV) -

The man who allegedly attacked a general sessions judge is in trouble with the law again. This time, he's accused of firing shots during an argument that turned violent over a computer.

This all started around 8 p.m. Monday at a home in Smyrna on the 1900 block of Almaville Road.

Police say there was a big family gathering there at the time when there was reportedly a dispute over the computer.

That's when 44-year-old Gary Gregg Moncier allegedly pulled out a gun.

"Mr. Moncier became very angry about something, pulled a weapon out, at which point in time, two male family members grabbed Mr. Moncier, grabbed the weapon. A struggle happened. The weapon did discharge. No one was injured from that. They were able to get the weapon away from him, unload it and then hide the weapon," said Smyrna Police Chief Kevin Arnold.

Police say Moncier fled, but family members called police.

Officers showed up and evacuated a few homes nearby until Moncier was found.

Moncier was taken to the hospital to undergo evaluation. He now faces aggravated assault and reckless endangerment charges.
