ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Angelina County Sheriff's deputies arrested a 35-year-old man on Nov. 14 for allegedly sexually assaulting a 6-year-old girl while she was in his care.

William James "Pookie" Taylor, of Lufkin, is still being held in the Angelina County Jail on a first-degree felony charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child. His bail has been set at $75,000.

According to the arrest affidavit East Texas News obtained Tuesday, the alleged aggravated sexual assault occurred at a residence in the 1300 block of Richardson Road in Angelina County. An ACSO deputy talked to the mother of the 6-tyear-old girl, who told him that her daughter was sexually assaulted while she was under Taylor's care.

In a forensic interview, the 6-year-old girl said that Taylor told her not to tell anyone what happened. She told the interviewer that Taylor sexually assaulted her after telling her to pull her pants down, and that the last time that occurred was Sept. 2.

During the forensic interview, the girl demonstrated the body positions she was forced to assume during the alleged sexual assaults, the affidavit stated.

In the affidavit, the 6-year-old victim is quoted as saying, "It hurt, last time laying on bed. He done it a lot."
