GARRISON, TX (KTRE) - A Garrison family lost everything after their home caught fire early Thursday morning.
According to Assistant Chief Jackie Brown, with the Garrison Volunteer Fire Department, crews responded to a structure fire on County Road 3286 in Garrison around 10:20 a.m.
Brown said when they arrived on the scene a mobile home was fully engulfed.
The family of seven was not in the home when the fire started, but the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Two adults that lived in the home arrived on scene and told Brown that the fire could have been started by a space heater that was left on.
Brown said the home was completely destroyed, stating the fire caused so much damage that none of the family's belongings and property are salvageable.
Brown said the family, two adults and five children, will look for assistance from various east Texas organizations.
