LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - GODTEL Ministries opened their doors for their annual Thanksgiving community feast.
GODTEL is a place where homeless East Texans can have a place to eat and sleep but the meal was open to anyone in the public who wanted a warm dinner and the company of others.
Executive director, June Gentry say they served meals to more than 200 people in Nacogdoches, Angelina and Polk counties this Thanksgiving.
"There's a lot of people that don't have a place to eat or a place to sleep so we provide that we also provide spiritual bible studies for them. Our number one goal here is to preach Jesus Christ is the number one answer to their problems and he can solve them and he does," said Gentry.
Gentry says even though Thanksgiving is a special day with special food every day should be a day where people give thanks.
