AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

A hearing was held on Monday morning for the Akron teacher accused of posting a racist Facebook rant.

Teacher David Spondike posted the 'n-word" on his personal facebook page.

He has since sent the Akron School Board a full apology.

Spondike was present at the school board hearing, which was not open to the public or the media. There will not be a ruling today.

Spondike remains on paid leave, pending the outcome of the hearing.
