Manhunt under way in Trinity Co. for theft suspect who fled from deputies

TRINITY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Deputies with the Trinity and Angelina County sheriff's office are taking part in a joint manhunt in the vicinity of the Friday community. The suspect, Michael Delane Boddie, 38, has several outstanding felony theft warrants in Angelina County.

According to a notice that appeared on the Trinity County Sheriff's Department Facebook page, Boddie allegedly fled when TCSO deputies attempted to arrest him.

The search is being conducted in the area off FM 1280 near the Zion Cemetery Road. Trinity County Sheriff Woody Wallace has requested the assistance of Texas Department of Criminal Justice tracking dogs.

The Friday community is situated on the border between Trinity and Houston counties.

"Please use caution if you are in this area and do not give anyone a ride," the notice urges.

According to the Angelina County jail Website, Boddie has a lengthy arrest record that dates back to 2000. While most of his arrests have been for misdemeanor charges, Boddie has also been arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, evading arrest/detention with a vehicle, burglary of a building, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a controlled substance, theft between $20,000 and $100,000, and manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance.

In the previous story, ACSO Sgt. Allen Hill said that Boddie has ties to the Aryan Brotherhood.
