RUSK, TX (KTRE) -

The Rusk Police Department is seeking the public's help in finding the man who robbed the town's Pic-In Pac store late Tuesday night.

According to Lt. Brad George of the Rusk Police Department, the robbery at the Pic-N-Pac store occurred at approximately 10:09 p.m. Tuesday. He said that a black man wearing dark pants and a gray, plaid hooded jacket or long-sleeved shirt entered the store, which is located in the 1200 block of West 6th Street.

After he canvassed the store, the suspect pulled out a semiautomatic handgun. George said the man demanded money and a bottle of wine from the cashier. The suspect then left the store with the wine and an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect was seen getting into the passenger side of a silver-colored, four-door sedan that was likely a Chevrolet Impala or Malibu. When the car left the store, it traveled east on Loop 343 in the direction of U.S. Highway 69.

A press release stated that the suspect is a black man in his mid-20s who is approximately 5-foot-9 and 175 pounds.

Anyone with any information on this robbery should contact Lt. Brad George at (903) 683-2677 or (903) 683-6978.
