NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Nacogdoches police have arrested two men who are accused of trying to rob another man on Hasley Street Wednesday morning.

Devonye Brown, 18, and Zachary Charqwan Brooks, 19, both of Nacogdoches, are charged with two counts of aggravated robbery.

According to the police report, officers were called to a home in the 400 block of Hasley Street at 9:36 a.m. Officers learned two suspects had knocked on the door of a home and one walked back to a vehicle and the other threatened the 69-year-old man with a handgun.

The suspect demanded the money and the man said he did not have any, according to the report.

The suspect then forced him to a home next door, where the suspect then threatened a woman and demanded money. A struggle then occurred between the male victim and the suspect, and the suspect ran away from the home and into the vehicle. He left the gun behind.

Just over an hour after the call, officers located a suspect vehicle and two suspects on Leroy Street. They arrested Brown and Brooks.

The male victim was treated at a Nacogdoches hospital for a hand injury.
