Pallet company damaged in early morning fire

Posted: Updated:
TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

An East Texas business is cleaning up after an early morning fire damaged their warehouse early Saturday.

Workers at the Redco Pallet company tell us that fire consumed part of the building sometime before 5:30 Saturday morning. One person was in the building at the time of the fire and called fire officials right away. This building is located near the intersection of NE Loop 323 and Highway 271, just northeast of Tyler.

Fire crews responded to the scene and were able to extinguish the flames before the fire spread to other parts of the building. Workers say about 30% of the building was damaged and that the main loss was wood and pallets, but there was also some electrical damage as well. While the cause has not yet been determined, workers tell us they believe the cause is electrical because the fire seems to have started near an electrical box in the building.

The building where the fire started is a warehouse operated by two separate businesses, Redco Pallet and Central Pallet. The Redco Pallet part of the warehouse is where the damage was done.

Workers tell us that the building is being repaired and that they anticipate to have everything up and running sometime Sunday.
