GOODYEAR, AZ (CBS5) -

Firefighters trying to gain entry into a burning Goodyear home had to saw through a metal security door to reach the blaze.

The first crew on the scene arrived within six minutes of the initial call and saw smoke coming from the eaves of the home at 15959 W. Moreland just after 11 a.m. Sunday.

"Once we were in, we had a crew go to one side of the house and another crew go to the other side," said Goodyear Fire Department Battalion Chief Russ Braden.

The crew that reached the master bedroom found a fire in the attic, Braden said.

The fire was knocked down in about 10 minutes.

Firefighters covered some of the homeowner's belongings in plastic and carried other objects outside.

The homeowners were not at home at the time the fire broke out.

"It's not a total loss, but it is significant enough damage that they cannot stay in the house," Braden said.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.

No one was hurt.
