NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Nacogdoches Police officers arrested a 36-year-old woman on an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge early Monday morning after she allegedly struck a man in the head with a tire iron, causing a laceration.
Kissi Rene Woods, of Nacogdoches, is still being held in the Nacogdoches County jail on a second-degree felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. No bail has been set at this time.
According to the police report, the incident occurred sometime between 12:05 and 12:13 a.m. Monday. Nacogdoches Police officers were dispatched out to an assault that occurred at a residence in the 300 block of Oakhill Plaza Drive. When they got there, they found that the complainant had been hit the head with a tire iron.
Sgt. Greg Sowell, a spokesman for the Nacogdoches Police Department said that the man and Woods had been involved in a heated argument before she allegedly struck him in the head with a tire iron, causing a cut.
NPD officers contacted Woods and arrested her without incident a short time later. The man was treated for his injury at a local hospital.
