PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A shoplifting suspect left her 1-year-old toddler in front of a Fry's Food store as she ran from police on Sunday, officers said.

According to a court document, Salina Payan, 24, took a number of items, concealed them in shopping bags, walked past the cashiers and abandoned her son.

When police confronted her, she flung her arms side-to-side, making it difficult for officers to take he into custody. She then tucked her arms into her pants.

Payan was booked into jail on charges of resisting arrest, shoplifting and child abuse.
