LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Lubbock firefighters put out a chimney fire in West Lubbock Monday night.

The fire broke out at a duplex on 34th Place near La Salle Avenue around 8:30 p.m.

Firefighters had to break into the chimney to put out the flames.

No word yet on what sparked it. Fortunately, no one was injured.

Firefighters are encouraging proper chimney care as we continue to experience cold nights.
