NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - The City of Nacogdoches is filled with the echoes of our past and thanks to a grant by the Humanities of Texas, the Nacogdoches Convention and Visitors Bureau is showcasing a new exhibit featuring information about the signers of the Texas Declaration of Independence.
And the cool thing?
Four of those signers are buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Nacogdoches.
"I have found more and more people are getting really interested in history. It's not just older people who are interested, but a lot of the college generation is interested in the history and since we have so much history in Nacogdoches and it ties in so well with our state's history, I think people are interested in knowing more about our history," said Melissa Sanford, the Executive Director for CVB.
The exhibit is open to the public until January 6, 2014.
