Nacogdoches Co. Sheriff''s Office files 2 new felony charges against child porn suspect

Posted: Updated:
NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A child pornography investigation in Nacogdoches continues to get more disturbing.

Today two more felony charges were filed on Justin Owen Lejeune, 31.

He's the former NISD cafeteria cook in jail after authorities found earlier this month a large amount of child porn in his house. Lejeune's arrest on December 5 was just enough to encourage a woman to reveal a dark secret she's held for 14 years.

"She made an outcry to the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office, and in the course of that investigation, we found out when that victim was much younger than what she is now she was sexually assaulted by this suspect," said Nacogdoches County Sheriff Jason Bridges.

Tonight, Lejeune sits in the county jail awaiting arraignment on the felony charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child.

At the end of a nearby hallway more evidence against Lejeune is stored.

"We've sorted through hundreds upon hundreds of CDs. In that evidence we have found numerous cd's and videos of downloaded child pornography," Bridges said. "And it's definitely child pornography, without a doubt."

Today another possession of child pornography charge, a second-degree felony was filed on Lejeune. Investigators watch hours and hours of evidence. The child porn leaves seasoned investigators numb.

There's also photos and visual recordings investigators believe Lejeune captured himself. Small, security-type cameras are in evidence. There is one even installed in a book.

"He had them installed in bathrooms," Bridges said. "He's made recordings of these. So you can tell he's doing this for self gratification."

It's believed the videos were watched on a large, flat-screen television found in Lejeune's home, located on Lone Star Road.

Bridges said Lejeune admitted to both the child porn and the sexual assault.

"He realized that he was caught and the gig was up," Bridges said. "It was just time for him to come forward with it, and that's just what he's done."

Lejeune is still being held in the Nacogdoches County jail on a first-degree felony charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child, two second-degree felony charges of possession of child pornography, and a state-jail felony charge of improper photo/video recording.

Collectively, his bail had been set at $200,000 for the first two felony charges. No bail has been set for his new charges.

NCSO deputies conducted a search warrant on Lejeune's home on FM 3314 on Dec. 5. The search of his residence allegedly led to the discovery of child pornography and improper video recordings made at his residence.

At the home, investigators found hidden cameras throughout the home which were aimed in secluded locations, such as bathrooms and guest bedrooms, Bridges said. During the search, investigators started finding massive amounts of pornography in Lejeune's bedroom, Bridges said. A brief search of his computer found several images of child pornography, Bridges said.

Investigators also found numerous homemade video recordings. Bridges said people were unknowingly being videotaped while inside the home. Investigators seized three computers, DVDs, notebooks, and several other components of pornography, Bridges said.

Although Lejeune wasn't at home when the search warrant was executed, authorities found him at work a short time later and took him into custody. NCSO investigators and Texas Ranger Travis Brazil interviewed Lejeune, and he allegedly confessed to having the evidence found at his home.

According to a press release, NCSO investigators have been reviewing the evidence found at Lejeune's residence. They found numerous DVDs in the man's bedroom. Nacogdoches County Sheriff Jason Bridges said there were more than 150 videos of improper video recordings and more than 30 videos of child pornography that were allegedly made or downloaded by Lejeune.

Bridges said the Lufkin Police Department's computer forensics division is still processing the computers taken from Lejeune's home. He said more charges may be pending once the investigation is completed.

Bridges said he believes the evidence shows Lejeune has been making and recording the videos for more than five years. He said numerous names were inside his journal and that numerous victims may not know they were recorded.

In a previous East Texas News story, NISD spokeswoman Rayanne DuChane said Lejeune was fired immediately following the arrest.

She said he worked for the district as the lead cook and prepared food and occasionally served meals in the cafeteria line. He has been working for the district since March 2010.

Despite the evidence found in the home, Bridges does not believe Lejeune's activity ever made it to the school.

"I want to be clear on this, at this point, we have no evidence that leads us to believe that anything happened on campus," Bridges said in a previous story.
