NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Fourteen employees learned they were out of jobs after it was announced the Nacogdoches Mazzio's has shut down Monday morning.
According to the store's general manager, Aaron Lopez, employees came to work Monday and were told by a corporate manager not to press any dough because he was on his way to the store to shut it down.
Lopez said he was told the store was shut down for "economic reasons."
"Everybody's pretty torn about it," Lopez said. "We were pretty much a family."
Lopez said the store was owned by Pinnacle Corporation. No severance package was offered, he said.
