LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A few weeks ago, the East Texas News set out to find some homeowners who were getting in the Christmas spirit with over-the-top Christmas light displays. What came as a surprise is when one of those homeowner's turned out to be none other than Angelina County Judge Bob Inselmann.
And it isn't the end for the jolly judge who is preparing for his annual Christmas party on Saturday, December 21. From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. the entire community is invited to come to Inselmann's home and check out his Christmas lights with the famous Santa Claus.
That's right, Kris Kringle will be making a pit stop at the Inselmann house to greet neighborhood kids and give out his favorite snack (other than cookies), which are candy canes!
"Santa's working real hard this time of year and this is why he has to wrap up by 7 because he has to be at the North Pole," Inselmann said.
Inselmann says he generally has about 100 people stop by his house every year and is so excited to see the kids faces when they meet Santa. He says he does hope the rain won't wash away his plans especially since Santa doesn't like the rain and only does well in snow and dry weather.
Inselmann says he can't wait to see everyone at his home, which is located at 1806 Columbine Drive in the Brookhollow subdivision in Lufkin.
