Scottsdale man sentenced to 15 years for drug convictions

Posted: Updated:

Authorities say a Scottsdale man has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison after being found guilty of drugs charges.

Michael Rocky Lane also was sentenced to serve five years of supervised probation upon his release.

The 52-year-old was found guilty in July.

John S. Leonardo, U.S. Attorney for the District of Arizona, says Lane was manufacturing and selling synthetic drugs.

Leonardo says they were powerful cocaine-like stimulants that got people high and were illegal.

He says the 15-year prison sentence "reflects the seriousness of manufacturing and distrusting" such synthetic drugs.

The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration.
