Nacogdoches Bikers bring holiday cheer

Posted: Updated:
NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Two charities in Nacogdoches were given a very special holiday treat.

Bikers from the Texas Thunder motorcycle club presented two checks today, each at $6,500. One check went to the East Texas Family Crisis center and one to the Nacogdoches Senior Center.

The bikers also helped load up the family crisis centers vehicle with gifts that will go to over 100 families in need this holiday season.

"We have worked on this all year," Texas Thunder Assistant Director James Kittrell said. "Donations have come in all year from chapter members all year for this toy run, plus we have had the auction to raise the extra money that we made into it. We are proud we can do that for the community and put this out for those who need it."

The group said they are not resting and will soon start campaigning for next Christmas.
