NWS cancels tornado warnings in Mid-South area

PHILLIPS COUNTY, AR -

(WMC-TV) - The tornado warnings for Crockett County, Tenn., Haywood County, Tenn., Lafayette County, Miss., and Panola County, Miss., have been canceled by the National Weather Service.

Action News 5's John Bryant, Tim Van Horn, and Bailey Melton are still monitoring the latest developments on the weather front in wall-to-wall coverage right now on WMC-TV5 and severe weather alerts remain for several Mid-South counties.

FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS

Flash flood warnings were issued by the National Weather Service for several counties, effective until 10:15 p.m.

Dyer County, Gibson County, Lauderdale County, Shelby County, Tipton County,

Arkansas

Clay County, Craighead County, Crittenden County, Cross County, Greene County, Lawrence County, Lee County, Mississippi County, Phillips County, Poinsett County, Randolph County, St Francis County,

Mississippi

Coahoma County, DeSoto County, Tate County, Tunica County,

TORNADO WATCHES

The National Weather Service extended the tornado watches for much of the Mid-South until midnight.
