Lively Lady looking for lifetime home

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Meet this energetic pooch named Lady. She's an almost 2 year old black Lab-Beagle mix.

Her family had to leave her with the Winnie Berry Humane Society because they were moving out of the country and couldn't take her with them.

"She's very loving but she needs to go to a home with it being an older couple or a younger couple without kids," said shelter staff member, Whitney White.

Like Whitney said, Lady is a tad spoiled and need to be the only pet in the house.

She does get along with other dogs but it takes her a little time to warm up to the idea.

'"She's just been playing in the yard with Baby Girl and Emmett they come out every day at 7 and play all day till 4," said White.

Lady's previous owners put a lot of time into training her. She's already housebroken and knows a whole list of commands, you know like simple commands like sit, shake, lay down and even give me kisses.

Lady's former owners left a note saying that Lady spent summer nights outside and winter nights inside on a pallet.

"She'd rather be an inside dog but she loves to go out and needs a big fenced in yard when she does go out to play," said White.

For more information on how to adopt our furry friend Lady, call the Winnie Berry Humane
Society at 936-639-1180
