SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

The suspect wanted for his alleged role in a New Year's Day shooting in Shreveport has turned himself in to authorities.

Schuncey Bates, 36, surrendered to authorities at the Caddo Correctional Center Sunday evening, Shreveport Detective Rod Demery said.

His bond is set at $350,000.

Bates was wanted on a charge of attempted second degree murder of Orlando Debrow.  Investigators say the shooting stemmed from an ongoing argument between the two men.

The shooting happened around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday morning in the 2600 block of Lillian Street.  Disbrow was shot 5 or 6 times but is expected to survive.
