1 vehicle flipped onto its side in 2-vehicle accident on Highway 103 near Lufkin

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Emergency crews worked to clear a two-vehicle wreck on Highway 103 West that resulted in a pickup being flipped onto its side Tuesday afternoon. No one was injured in the accident.

According to Cpl. Ray Berry of the Lufkin Police Department, Robert Culver, a Maryland resident, was driving his Ford Ranger east on Highway 103 near the city limits when Gene Wooten, 79, of Lufkin attempted a U-turn and struck Culver's vehicle, causing it to flip over.

Highway 103 was blocked for about 10 minutes, and Wooten was cited for failure to yield right of way. The accident occurred at approximately 2 p.m.
