LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

A Kemah man has been cited for failure to control speed after hitting a power pole on the corner of First Street and Denman Avenue in Lufkin Thursday morning.

According to the investigating officer, David Green, 40, made a left from First Street around 10:20 a.m. onto Denman Avenue, but took the turn too fast and hit a power pole.

He suffered minor injuries and was taken to a Lufkin hospital.

The collision took out the power in the area, and Oncor workers said they would be there for up to four hours replacing the pole.
