SOUTHPORT, NC (WECT) - Keith Vidal's friends and family gathered Saturday to say their final goodbyes as the teenager killed in last Sunday's officer-involved shooting was laid to rest.

Crowds of Vidal's loved ones gathered inside of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church to pay their last respects to the teenager.

Vidal's relatives described him as friendly, outgoing, brilliant, and happy during the service.

Family members did not want to speak to the media at the funeral, but friends of Keith Vidal said they are looking for answers.

"All I would like to see is closure and I think that's what most of (his family) would like, is just closure- to know what happened, why these things happened, and some explanation of what was going on," said Josh Green, a friend of Vidal.

Vidal's friends are planning a march next Saturday.  The march will start at 1 p.m. at City Hall in Boiling Spring Lakes.

Organizers said the officer who killed Vidal used excessive force and they want justice.
