One person dead following head on wreck Sunday morning

WOOD COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

One person is dead following a two vehicle head on wreck Sunday morning in Wood County.

DPS officials tell us 56-year-old Michael Ray Neagle of Quitman died in the wreck when the vehicle he was driving crossed into oncoming traffic and was hit head on by a tractor trailer.

According to the DPS report, Neagle was driving a 2004 Chevy Impala in the northbound lanes of Highway 69 about 5 miles north of Mineola when the accident occurred. Neagle's vehicle drifted into the southbound lanes and hit a tractor trailer head on.

Neagle was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say next of kin has been notified and that it is not yet known if Neagle was wearing his seat belt.
