LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Texas Rangers arrested an Angelina County Sheriff's Office deputy on a Class A misdemeanor theft charge after their investigation revealed he allegedly stole more than $500 from a Boy Scout troop.

Gregory Alan Trammell, 30, of Lufkin, was arrested and charged with misappropriation of fiduciary or financial property between $500 and $1,500, which is a Class A misdemeanor Friday. He was released from the jail later that day after he posted a $1,500 bail.

Angelina County Sheriff Greg Sanches said that the ACSO got a complaint from a local Boy Scout troop that there was some money missing. The Texas Rangers conducted the investigation, and Trammell was arrested Friday.
