TRINITY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

Deputies with the Trinity County Sheriff's Office arrested a Trinity woman accused of attacking her elderly mother while she was sleeping on Tuesday.

Leah Harlow, 37, is charged with first-degree injury to elderly.

According to the arrest report, deputies responded to a disturbance. When they arrived, a woman over the age of 65 said she has been abused by her daughter, Harlow, on several occasions since Jan. 12. She said on Monday, she had fallen down and Harlow got angry with her and grabbed her and picked her up by her hair, pulling a clump of hair out.

The woman said she decided then to lie down. While she was asleep, Harlow began hitting her in the back of the head.

The report states Harlow admitted to abusing her mother in the past, but that she did not do it this time. However, deputies reported the woman's injuries were consistent with her story and arrested Harlow at the home.
