LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The Angelina County Sheriff's Office has some new rides that they say are not only going to make them look more professional, but hopefully help them catch the bad guys.
Sheriff Greg Sanches says they got six new cars on Tuesday. Four of the cars will be marked and two of them will be unmarked.
Sanches says they used the money from their capital outlay that was determined in the county's budget. He says each year they use money from that outlay to purchase items they need and this year its new vehicles for some of their deputies.
"It looks good and it's a new design for the county and I think the people are going to like it. I know the deputies have been excited about it. I think it really looks good. It's definitely a sign of professionalism and has a real good enforcement type of look for a patrol car," Sanches said.
He says they will continue to drive the old cars and will buy more vehicles in 2015.
