NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - A team effort by the Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force and the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force led to the arrest of one of the two men who robbed a man at gunpoint at a Nacogdoches car wash and took his vehicle, Polaris Ranger ATV, and wallet on Christmas Eve of 2013.
Craig Allen Randall, 27, was arrested in Huffman Wednesday and charged with aggravated robbery and credit card abuse on warrants from the Nacogdoches Police Department, according to a press release. He is currently being held in the Nacogdoches Jail.
On Thursday, NPD detectives traveled to the Houston area to pick Randall up and transport him back to Nacogdoches.
"Information provided by the public to Nacogdoches Crime Stoppers assisted officers in this case," the press release stated.
According to a previous East Texas News story, two white males approached the victim as he was washing his vehicle at a car wash in the 4900 block of East Main Street in Nacogdoches on Dec. 24, 2013. After they brandished a gun, they took the man's vehicle, Polaris ATV, and wallet.
The vehicle and the ATV were found abandoned in the Woden area.
According to Detective Jonathon Adams, the suspect pictured in the car was identified through a Crime Stoppers tip around 1 p.m. on Jan 7, just hours after Nacogdoches Crime Stoppers released photos of the suspects and their vehicle. But the suspect pictured in the store has not yet been identified.
Adams said he used the Crime Stoppers tip which gave the name and matched it with various photographs of the suspect. He said a warrant will be issued for that man's arrest.
Nacogdoches Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest or grand jury indictment in this case.
