ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

Fire fighters from the Fuller Springs Volunteer Fire Department battled a pasture fire in the Bald Hill area early Tuesday morning. The fire burned approximately 60 acres of land.

According to Fuller Springs Assistant Fire Chief Bobby Cranford, crews were called to a pasture off of FM 326 and an egg farm road around 3:30 am.

"When we got here, the fire stretched about an eighth of a mile along 326," Cranford said. "We started by stopping the fire near the houses and road and then moved into the pasture."

The cause is unknown but Cranford believes it could have possibly been caused by wind starting up a small burn pile that could have been put out a few days earlier.

The fire was put out by 7:30 a.m. No injuries have been reported.
