Diboll Education Center's new parent summit to unplug kids from technology

DIBOLL, TX (KTRE) - Sometimes parenting can be easy and other times, it takes an army. The Diboll Family Education Center has offered parenting classes for years and this year, they are doing something a little different.

Director Charlotte Morris says she has created a parent summit, which will feature guest speakers from all over Angelina County who will offer tips on security, health issues and how to take technology out of your child's life and get back to the basics.

"All of our wonderful technology sometimes overtakes the everyday simple things of life. That's kind of what this session would be," Morris said.

The session will be on January 31 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at 299 S. Neil Pickett Drive in Diboll. The session is free, but the education center is requiring all interested parents to sign up at http://www.dibollisd.com/.
