    Lufkin pitcher Kolton Eberlan made it official in ink Monday morning, that he will be playing baseball at LeTourneau University. The two-time letterwinner is being recruited as a right handed pitcher, but he's versatile and also plays outfield for the Pack.

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A Pay It Forward phone bank at CBS 5 Wednesday night raised $25,830 for the Crisis Nursery, a Valley safe haven for victims of child abuse and neglect.

The money will go directly toward the shelter's pediatric medical services.

Every child who comes in gets a full physical.

Some have been hurt so bad they need to go to the hospital. Most, however, are getting their very first checkup.

They've never even had any shots.

"When you think of a family that's homeless or a family with substance abuse or domestic violence, all these things, like vaccines, well-child visits, they go out the window," said nurse Cindy Rust.

She gets these kids caught up with fresh records and set up with dentists and pediatricians so when they're ready to leave the shelter and be reunited with their families, they can focus on what matters and get back to the basics of being a healthy family.

People who missed the phone bank can still help out. There's a Family Fun Walk on Sunday at Salt River Fields. A $20 donation will also get you into the street eats festival.
