MARSHALL, TX (KLTV) -

A man accused of killing his wife at an East Texas hotel was indicted for murder on Wednesday.

Harrison County District Attorney Coke Solomon says 35-year-old Brad Allen Dunn was indicted by a grand jury for the murder of his wife, Kari Rene Hunt Dunn.

On December 1, authorities located Kari Rene Dunn unresponsive at Baymont Inn and Suites in Marshall. She was later pronounced dead at the scene. Police say that before their arrival, Brad fled the scene in a 1998 Maroon Ford Expedition with their 4-year-old child, Kylie Dunn. An Amber Alert was issued shortly thereafter. In the amber alert, authorities stated that they believed Kylie was in danger.

A short time later, Brad Dunn was apprehended near Linden in Cass County by the Cass County Sheriff's office. Kylie was taken into police custody safely then returned to her family. The Amber Alert was discontinued a short time later.

Kari's death has prompted a national campaign to eliminate the need to dial "9" before calling 911 from a hotel room. Kari's father, Hank Hunt, says his 9-year-old granddaughter tried to call 911 during the incident but could not.
